Introduction

The Basic Life Support qualification will give learners the skills and knowledge to act in an emergency situation providing the casualty with critical life saving assistance until support arrives.

This FAA level 2 award (RQF) qualification is delivered following the protocols set by the Resuscitation Council (UK) Guidelines.

Effective bystander CPR provided immediately after sudden cardiac arrest can double or triple a victim’s chance of survival, but only 32% of cardiac arrest victims get CPR from a bystander.

The chance of surviving unattended CPR out of hospital is just 8% and with every minute delay in getting the chain of survival completed, including early defibulation and early advance life support.
